Liza Colon-Zayas

Liza Colón-Zayas is an original member of the LAByrinth Theater Company, now in residence at The Public Theater. She originated the role Norca in the Off- Broadway hit Our Lady of 121st Street, and the role of Daisy in the ensemble drama In Arabia We'd All Be Kings. Both plays were directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman and written by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Mr. Guirgis directed and developed her first solo show, Sistah Supreme. The show had a summer long run at the First NYC Hip-Hop Theater Festival at P.S. 122, produced by Danny Hoch. Other solo shows include Bacalaitos (Aaron Davis Hall), Have You Seen Here? (PSNBC, Aaron Davis Hall), and Knee Jerk Reaction (George Street Playhouse & INTAR). She has toured Europe with director Peter Sellars in a production of A Story of a Soldier. Film credits include Unfaithful w/ Richard Gere, Apt. 5C w/Richard Edson (Cannes Film Festival), The Keeper w/ Giancarlo Esposito (Sundance Film Festival). TV credits include Law & Order, Third Watch, Sex & the City, Deadline w/Oliver Platt, Law and Order: S.V.U., New York Undercover. Upcoming projects include Heights w/ Glenn Close and The Lodge Kerrigan Project, produced by Steven Soderbergh.
