Lynn Ahrens won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award and received two Grammy nominations as lyricist for the Broadway musical RAGTIME. She wrote book and lyrics for The Glorious Ones (’07-’08, Lincoln Center Theater); Once on this Island (London Olivier Award, Best Musical, Tony nominations for Best Book and Score); Seussical (Grammy nomination, now one of the most performed shows in America); Dessa Rose (Outer Critics Circle nomination); A Christmas Carol (Ten years at Madison Square Garden) and Lucky Stiff (Helen Hayes Award, Best Musical). She wrote lyrics for My Favorite Year, A Man of No Importance (2003 Outer Critics Circle Award, Best Musical) and Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life (special material). She received two Academy Award nominations and two Golden Globe nominations for the animated feature film Anastasia (Twentieth Century Fox) and provided lyrics for Camp (IFC Films). For television, she wrote the musical teleplay of A Christmas Carol (Hallmark Entertainment, NBC). She is a mainstay songwriter and singer for Schoolhouse Rock and many other network shows. (Emmy Award and four Emmy nominations.) Council of the Dramatists Guild of America, co-chair, Dramatists Guild Fellows Program. 2008 marks her twenty-fifth year of collaboration with composer Stephen Flaherty.
