In 2009, David won the Obie Award for
Sustained Excellence in Design as well
as the Drama Desk Award and Henry
Hewes Design Award for Why Torture
is Wrong and the People Who Love
Them at the Public Theater. He
also received the Hewes Award for his
work on Blackbird, as well as
thirteen other Hewes nominations.
