| STEPHEN STRAWBRIDGE has designed on
and off-Broadway and at most leading
regional theaters and opera companies
across the US. Internationally, he has
designed major premiers in Bergen,
Copenhagen, Hong Kong, The Hague,
Munich, Sao Paulo, and Vienna.
Notable productions include Robert
Wilson’s Hamlet, a Monologue and
Danton’s Death; Marco Polo, and
Vers La Flamme, directed by
Martha Clarke; Bernarda Alba,
by Michael John LaChiusa, directed by
Graciella Daniele; Singing
Forest by Craig Lucas, directed by
Bart Sher; Souls of Naples with
John Turturro in Naples, Italy; many
works for Pilobolus Dance Theatre and
the opera Wakonda’s Dreamby
composer Anthony Davis and poet Yusef
Komunyakaa.
Mr. Strawbridge is a Professor at Yale
School of Drama, where he is also co-
chair of the Design Department and
Resident Lighting Designer for the
Yale Repertory Theatre.
